» The Turkish bank notes YTL are invalid from the 01st of January, 2010

After the Turkish Liras has lost 6 zeros in 2008 and of transitional-wise the YTL (new Turkish lira) was used, now the Turkish lira (TL) is valid in Turkey as a sole national currency. Till the end of 2009 one could still pay everywhere with the bank notes YTL. This is not possible from 01.01.2010 any more.

But don’t worry: Should you still have old bank notes, you can exchange this at the Turkish banks for the new TL notes.
» The new customs regulations of Turkey:


The import of foreign currency is on indefinitely limit and the exportation of foreign currency has been fixed to a total of 5000 dollars or in equivalence in TL.
With personal jewelers, travelers are allowed to transport a value of 15.000 dollar once and also declare. With the entry, if the value is higher than the given sum, then it must be declared. For a purchase in Turkey with a higher value, a proof is necessary.

Drugs, medical devices, personal consumer goods and gifts are permitted up to 300€ (children less than 15 years may transport and declare only to a value of 145€).

» The land transfer tax from now on 3.3%

Like you will know, up to now a land transfer tax of 3% of the basic value registered in the title deed was paid in Turkey. The payments were made with directly to the registration office and after that one got the right to the registration.

In 2010 the taxes were fixed by new one and were published. From now on, the Turkey lovers, who acquire here a real estate, will pay a land transfer tax of 3.3%.

» Right to health insurance in Turkey

Depending on the international mutuality principle, foreigners, who have received a permanent stay approval and have no assurance in another place within the scope of an international insurance agreement, who do not have the duty to be insured here in Turkey because of their social situation and are resident in Turkey more than one year, are declared as generally ill-insured, starting with the 1st permanent stay year.

From this date, you can issue personally in the social security institution (SGK) within one month a general assurance declaration with which you will be registered.

If you pay the calculated insurance premiums, you can use the health facilities of the Turkish state easily.
» New State Hospital in Oba

Since long time protocols and different written orders were escorted to the town council about the new hospital project in Oba. After it was agreed, it had to be still confirmed by the parliament with an approval by the Prime Minister. An end was grasped and herewith it agreed, then immediately on the price and on the place of the property was declared.

After the opening of the hospital in Oba, this new hospital will be a support for the state hospital in Alanya. This new hospital will be an first aid clinic.

Oba is 4-5 km away from Alanya and in the summertime Oba has become a vacation domicile of many tourists and at the same time also a place where several foreigners live permanently.
The hospital will be built in Oba on a 620 sqm property and there will be of 400 beds.
 
» Istanbul is In 2010 the cultural capital of Europe
